Diabetes is a debilitating disease and slowly destroys all the organs and functions of the body. Excess sugar in the blood causes damage to the blood vessels and the nervers. Diabetic neuropathy is nerve damage that is caused by diabetes. Diabetics have high levels of sugar and triglycerides in their blood which in turn causes damage to the nerves which results in diabetic neuropathy. Symptoms depend on which type of diabetic neuropathy you have. Following types of diabetic neuropathy are found :
Peripheral Neuropathy - Peripheral neuropathy is a type of nerve damage that typically affects the feet and legs and sometimes affects the hands and arms. This type of neuropathy is very common. About one-third to one-half of people with diabetes have peripheral neuropathy.
Autonomic Neuropathy - Autonomic neuropathy is damage to nerves that control your internal organs, leading to problems with your heart rate and blood pressure, digestive system, bladder, sex organs, sweat glands, and eyes. The damage can also lead to hypoglycemia unawareness.
Focal Neuropathy - Focal neuropathies are conditions in which you typically have damage to single nerves, most often in your hand, head, torso, or leg. The most common types of focal neuropathy are entrapment syndromes, such as carpal tunnel syndrome. Other types of focal neuropathy are much less common.
Proximal Neuropathy - Proximal neuropathy is a rare and disabling type of nerve damage in your hip, buttock, or thigh. The damage typically affects one side of your body and may rarely spread to the other side. Symptoms gradually improve over a period of months or years.
Treatment of Diabetic Neuropathy - Actual treatment for any complication of diabetes is the same as the treatment for diabetes. Type II diabetes is completely preventable and reversible. The blood glucose levels can be brought under control without the use of any medication if strict and correct lifestyle modifications are done. This can be achieved through the combination of diet and exercise. The processed food that we are eating gives sudden rise to blood sugar which is not absorbed by the cells and this causes rise in blood sugar levels as measured by us.
Everybody keeps telling you to make `Lifestyle Modifications' but nobody explains it in detail. Our body is meant to get its energy from the plants which produce surplus energy in the form of fruits and seeds. We are supposed to consume these fruits and the seeds in their natural form rather than processing them meaning cooking them. Longtime back we stopped eating the food given by the plants in their raw form and started cooking these foods. This results in concentration of sugar and the sugar which was supposed to be extracted by our digestive system now gets extracted outside our stomach and then we consume it which gives us instant sugar. We even processed pure white sugar from the fruits and now use it in most of our eatables. Stop eating cooking food and eat all the vegetabes, fruits and the seeds in their raw form and your blood sugar levels will come to normal within 15 days.
